Complete Guide to Crocheting a Charming Baby Garment Using SAL SIM Yarn

Materials Needed

You'll need:

SAL SIM yarn (5% metallic, 95% acrylic; 460m/100g), colour 189-55, 1 skein
Hook size: 2.5
Target size: 6-9 months

Instructions

Start your work with the neck hole. Make a chain of 80 chains with "SAL SIM" yarn and crochet in the following way:

First Row

1st row: 9 half double crochets (hdc), 3 chains (cs), 20 hdc, 3 cs, 18 hdc, 3 cs, 20 hdc, 3 cs, 9 hdc and circle the row.

Second Row

2nd row: Crochet 1 hdc in places of 3 cs, then 3 cs and 1 hdc. Crochet 1 hdc from the rest of the stitches.

Third Row

3rd row: Crochet 1 hdc with white yarn, but don't turn the last stitch. Make a 2nd crochet from the stitch of the next half-crochet and then crochet the rest of the stitches as one stitch. Make a row crocheting 2 hdc together, 3 cs, 2 hdc together, 3 cs; repeat from * to end. From chains of 3 cs, make 2 hdc crochet together, 3 cs and 2 hdc crochet together.

Fourth Row

4th row: Make a row of short crochets with white yarn (make 1 half crochet from 1 stitch).

Rows Five to Seven

5th-7th rows: As 2nd row.

Row Eight

8th row: As 3rd row.

Row Nine

9th row: As 4th row.

Tenth Row

10th row: As 2nd row.

Row Eleven

11th row: Make sleeves as follows: crochet 29 half-crochets between 2 raglan lines with colorful yarn, leave the next 40 half-crochets for the sleeve, crochet the next 29 half-crochets, and make a yoke connecting the front and back of your work. Crochet 3 rows with colorful yarn in hdc, then crochet the same way as 3rd and 4th rows with white yarn. Turn to colorful yarn again and make a row, crocheting 4 cs, half crochet, slip 2 hdc. In the next rows, crochet 1 hdc and 3 cs by turn to a height of 17 cm. Finish by crocheting all stitches with half-crochets (see the scheme).
