Step-by-Step Guide to Knitting a Stylish S-M Top with Sandnes Garn LINE Yarn

You’ll Need:

200g of Sandnes Garn LINE yarn (53% cotton, 33% viscose, 14% linen);

Knitting needles 4.

Size:

S-M.


Stitches Control:

19 sts × 25 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Cast on 192 sts with knitting needles 4 and knit 6 rows of garter stitch around. Place markers on the side seams, continue work around with the main pattern, making decreases (knit2tog) in every 6th row.

Make 12 decreases from each side = 168 sts.

At 37 cm height, divide your work in half. Continue work with front and back separately (84 sts for each part).

Back

Work with straight and reversed rows. Make decreases for arm-holes from both sides in every 2nd row: 5 sts, 3 sts, 2 sts, 1 st, 1 st, 1 st = 58 sts. Then, knit straight due to the pattern. At 12 cm height from the arm-hole, bind off the central 20 sts for the neck-hole, then bind off 5 sts, 3 sts, 2 sts, 1 st, 1 st in every 2nd row. At 19 cm height from the arm-hole, bind off 7 sts for straps.

Front

Make arm-holes in the same way as for back. Make V-shape neck-hole, making decreases before the last 2 sts in every 2nd row for the neck-hole.

Assembly

Make shoulder seams.
