How to Create a Colorful Crochet Tea Pot Cover

You’ll Need
100% cotton yarn (109m/71g):
- 1 skein of crimson color (#1)
- 1 skein of purple color (#2)
- 1 skein of light-blue color (#3)
- 1 skein of light-green color (#4)
- 1 skein of white color (#5)
- 1 skein of carroty color (#6)
- 1 skein of red color (#7)
Crochet hook size 5 is recommended.
Stitch Control
13 single crochets x 14 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Instructions
Make 2 identical details. Alternate the colors of yarn every 2 rows in the following order: #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, #7, #6, #5, #4, #3, #2, #1.
Make a chain of 29 or 36 stitches with #1 yarn and work according to Scheme 1, repeating the last row to achieve 10 or 13 cm in height. Finish the scheme with a row on the wrong side.
For the upper part, follow Scheme 2 to make 6 rows. Then, switch to Scheme 3: lift 10 chain stitches in the 3rd and 4th rows, crochet them together with the stitches lifted in the 1st and 2nd rows.
Next Row Instructions
1 chain stitch, then 1 single crochet in the 1st stitch. Repeat the following pattern:
- (2 single crochets in the 2 chains of 10 chain stitches, 1 single crochet in the next stitch) x 3;
- 4 times, 1 single crochet in the last single crochet.
Total: 11 or 14 crochet stitches. Turn the work.
Subsequent Row Instructions
1 chain stitch, then 1 single crochet in the 1st single crochet. For the next set:
- 2 single crochets with a common top x 5 or 7 times,
- 1 single crochet in the next stitch.
Cut the yarn and fasten it.
Finishing Touches
Create the second part of the tea pot cover. Sew the two details together, leaving open spaces measuring 6 to 8.5 cm for the handle and gooseneck.
Create a flower using Scheme 4 and sew it onto the cover for a decorative finish.
