Main Pattern
The quantity of sts is multiple of 35 + 6 + 1 chain st increase. Work due to the scheme 1. Start every row with sts before pattern repeat, pattern repeat, finish with sts after pattern repeat. Make 1st-12th rows once, then repeat 3rd-12th rows.
Fans Border
As the main pattern, but due to the scheme 2 on the edge of shawl. Make 1st-5th rows once.
Stitches Control:
21.5 sts x 8.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Instructions
Make 111 chain sts + 1 chain st increase and work with the main pattern. In 180 cm from the set-up row, finish your work. Fasten short sides and one long side with fans border, paying attention that there should be 1 fan motif in every corner. Make this corner fan in the 2nd row of pattern on 11 double crochets instead of 7 double crochets in the following rows. Fasten open long side with 1 row of “shells” (= * 1 single crochet, step back 1 cm from edge, 7 double crochets in 1 base st, step back 1 cm from edge*; repeat from * to *).
