Stockinette stitch: in RS row – knit sts, in WS row – purls.
Main Pattern Details:
1st-5th rows: stockinette stitch;
6th and 14th rows: 1 knit st, slip 1 knit st, yarn behind work;
7th and 15th rows: knit;
8th and 16th rows: slip 1 knit st, yarn behind work, 1 knit st;
9th row: knit;
10th row: purl;
11th row: 1 yarn over, knit 2 together, 1 knit st;
12th row: purl;
13th row: knit.
Color Order
Colors order: * 5 purple rows, 3 mélange rows, 5 yellow rows, 3 mélange rows, 5 blue rows, 3 mélange rows, 5 pink rows, 3 mélange rows*; repeat from * to *.
Stitches Control:
16 sts x 23 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Instructions
Skirt
Cast on 130 sts with mélange yarn and work with the main pattern according to the colors order. For widenings, increase 10 x 9 sts in every 8th row = 220 sts. In 35 cm from the set-up row, bind off all sts.
Top
Cast on 22 sts and work with the main pattern according to the stripes order, increase 3 x 1 st in every 4th row. In 6 cm from the set-up row, increase 19 sts for armholes = 44 sts. In 10 cm from the set-up row, bind off 20 sts from the right side = 24 sts. In 19 cm from the set-up row, make the second half of the top in symmetry. In 76 cm from the set-up row, leave all sts. Circle the top into a ring and connect with kitchener’s stitch.
Assembly
Make shoulder seams of the top and back seam of the skirt. Cast on 102 sts along the lower edge of the top, 150 sts along the neck-hole, and 54 sts along each armhole, make 6th-8th rows of the main pattern and bind off sts. Make 32 chain sts = 18 cm between top and skirt. Then, work in the following way: 4 chain sts, 2 double crochets, 8 chain sts, 4 double crochets, 8 chain sts, 3 double crochets, 8 chain sts, 4 double crochets, 8 chain sts, 2 double crochets, 4 chain sts. Then, work in chess-board order.
