Knitting a Cozy Blue Siberia Yarn Hooded Sweater

You’ll Need:

300 (300) 350g of blue Siberia yarn (55% alpaca wool, 12% camel wool, 12% wool, 21% polyamide; 110m/50g).

30 (32) 34m of Fellgarn yarn (100% rabbit wool).

Knitting needles size 7.

Crochet hook size 6.

3 blue buttons.

Used Patterns:

Stockinette Stitch: In RS row – knit sts, in WS row – purls.

Simple Decreases for Hood: Before the central st: slip 1 st, 1 knit st and draw it through the slipped st; after the central st: knit2tog.

Double Decreases for Hood: Before the central st: slip 1 st, knit2tog and draw it through the slipped st; after the central st: knit3tog.

Stitches Control:

13 sts x 18 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions:

Back:

Cast on 67 (72) 77 sts with Siberia yarn and work with stockinette stitch between selvage sts. In 58 (59) 60 cm from the set-up row, bind off the central 19 (22) 25 sts for neck-hole and finish both sides separately, bind off 1 x 3 sts from inwards. In 60 (61) 62 cm from the set-up row, bind off the rest of the sts.

Left Front:

Cast on 36 (39) 41 sts with Siberia yarn and work with stockinette stitch between selvage sts. In 60 (61) 62 cm from the set-up row, bind off 21 (22) 23 sts from the right side. Make hood on the rest 15 (17) 18 sts, cast on 3 (2) 1 x 5 sts and 1 (2) 3 x 6 sts in every 2^nd row = 36 (39) 41 sts. Then, leave all sts.

Right Front:

Make in symmetry to the left front, in 30 (31) 32 cm from the set-up row, make 3 button holes: bind off 4 sts and cast them on again in the next row.

Hood:

Cast on the previously left sts of right and left halves of front and work on all sts. In 27 cm from the beginning of hood, decrease 7 x 1 st and 1 x 2 sts in every 2^nd row from both sides of center. In 36 cm from the beginning of hood, divide the rest sts in the center of work and connect them with “stitch in stitch” seam.

Pocket:

Cast on 17 sts with Siberia yarn and work with stockinette stitch between selvage sts. In 16 cm from the set-up row, bind off all sts. Make the second pocket in the same way.

Assembly:

Make shoulder and side seams, leave the upper 20 (21) 22 cm of side seams open for arm-holes. Fasten all the edges with 1 circle row of single crochets with Feligran yarn. Fasten the upper edges of pockets with 1 row of “crab stitch” with Siberia yarn and sew pockets to the front. Sew on buttons.
