Assembly
For cuffs, cast on 50 stitches with circular knitting needles and work with rib. At 8 cm width of cuff, bind off stitches as purls. For the hood, cast on about 104 stitches along the neck-hole (20 stitches along the upper edge of front, 64 stitches along the upper edge of back) and work with stockinette stitch. Mark the central 2 stitches. For better shaping, in 22 cm = 52 rows from the set-up row, make 2 stitches before the central stitches as broaching and make 2 stitches after central stitch as knit 2 together. Repeat these decreases 4 times in every 2nd row. Bind off the rest 94 stitches in 26 cm = 62 rows from the set-up row. Fold the hood in half and make a central seam. Sew up sleeves. Make side and sleeve seams. Cast on 176 (194) 212 stitches with circular knitting needles and work with rib. At 4 cm width of placket, bind off stitches with a double thread of yarn, as purls. Sew buttons.
