Knit Beige Poncho with Sleeves

Aug 15, 2021 12:11 AM

You’ll need:

1100g of mélange beige Diverse yarn (58% sheep wool, 22% mohair, 20% polyamide; 50m/50g);

Straight and circular knitting needles 9.

Used Patterns

1 x 1 rib.

Fancy pattern: the quantity of sts is multiple 4 + 1. Work due to the scheme, on which both RS and WS rows are stated. Start with 1 selvage st, pattern repeat, finish with st after pattern repeat and 1 selvage st. Repeat 1st-6th rows.

Patterns order: 72 rows of stockinette stitch, 20 rows of fancy pattern, 72 rows of stockinette stitch = totally, 164 rows.

Stitches control: 10 sts x 14,5 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Starting from the left side, cast on 42 sts and work due to the patterns order. The center of work form the upper line of sleeve-shoulder. At the same time from the set-up row, increase 3 x 3 sts, 13 x 2 sts and 15 x 1 st in every 2nd row from both sides for smooth rounding = 142 sts. In 48 cm = 70 rows from the set-up row, divide your work in the middle for neck-hole and continue making each detail separately = 71 sts. Leave sts of front. At the same time from work division, bind off 1 st from the edge of neck-hole for back and 1 x 2 sts in the next 2nd row = 68 sts. In 56,6 cm = 82 rows form the set-up row, the center of back is reached and after that finish neck-hole in symmetry. In 65 cm = 94 rows from the set-up row, leave all 71 sts.

After that, work on previously left 71 sts of front and bind off 2 sts from edge for smooth rounding and 3 x 1 st in every 2nd row = 66 sts. Continue knitting in symmetry from the middle of front. In 65 cm = 94 rows from the set-up row, finish your poncho on all 142 sts. In 113 cm = 164 rows from the set-up row, bind off the rest 42 sts.

Cast on 466 sts along the lower edge of poncho and make placket with 1 x 1 rib. At 4 cm = 5 rnds height of placket, continue work on the set-up row and bound off edge from both sides of line and make sleeve-shoulder on 11 sts (= totally, 22 sts) of rib for sleeve placket, bind off the rest sts as they face. In 23 cm from the set-up row, bind off sts of sleeve placket due to the pattern and make placket seams. For collar, cast on 52 sts with circular knitting needles and work with rib in rnds. At 22 cm height of collar, bind off sts as they face.
