How to Crochet a Stylish Half-Bag with a Handle

You’ll Need:

2 skeins of red yarn (100% cotton; 150m/50g);

Instructions

Half-Bag

Work in 2 threads of yarn with crochet hook 3.5 mm.

Make 3 chain stitches, then 3 single crochets in the 3^rd chain stitch, and turn;

Row Instructions:

2^nd row: 2 chain stitches, 3 single crochets in the crochets of the previous row, and turn;

3^rd row: 2 chain stitches, 1 increase (2 single crochets in one stitch of the previous row), 1 single crochet, and 2 single crochets in the last crochet, then turn;

4^th row: 2 chain stitches, 1 increase, 3 single crochets, 1 increase, and turn;

5^th row: 1 increase, 5 single crochets, and 1 increase, then turn;

6^th row: 1 increase, 7 single crochets, and 1 increase, then turn;

7^th row: 1 increase, 9 single crochets, and 1 increase, then turn;

8^th row: 1 increase, 11 single crochets, and 1 increase, then turn;

Repeat the 1^st-8^th rows in this manner until the quantity of single crochets between increases reaches 27 = 31 single crochets. Crochet 1 row straight.

Next row: 1 increase, 29 single crochets, and 1 increase = 33 crochets.

After that, make 6 rows without increases. Then, divide your work in half and finish each side separately:

First Half Instructions:

1^st row: 1 chain stitch, 14 single crochets, leave 2 crochets without fastening, and turn;

2^nd row: 2 chain stitches, leave 2 crochets without fastening, 11 single crochets, leave 2 crochets without fastening, and turn;

3^rd row: 1 chain stitch, 11 single crochets, leave 2 crochets without fastening, and turn;

Make the second half in reflection, join the yarn at the center of the bag, and make 2 chain stitches. Fasten the detail around with 1 row of single crochets, starting and finishing at the lower corner. Ensure the second half of the back is made symmetrically.

Assembly

Put the details together and fasten them with 1 row of slip stitches, starting at the upper row of 6 crochets and finishing at the same height. Make the fastener in 4 threads of yarn with crochet hook 4.5 mm. Join the yarn to the upper edge of the bag, make 4 chain stitches, and work with rows of 4 single crochets, starting every row with a 1 chain stitch increase.
