Essential Crochet Pattern for a Rainbow Pillow Using Bernat Baby Blanket Yarn

You’ll Need:

Bernat® Baby Blanket™ (3.5 oz/100 g; 72 yds/65 m):

  • 1 ball of Contrast A Baby Blue (03202);
  • 1 ball of Contrast B Seafoam (03736);
  • 1 ball of Contrast C Baby Yellow (03615);
  • 1 ball of Contrast D Baby Pink (03200);
  • 1 ball of Contrast E Baby Peach (03512);
  • Crochet hook 8 mm;
  • Stuffing.

Size:

About 45.5 cm wide.

Stitches Control:

7 sts x 8 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Note:

To change color, work to the last 2 loops on the hook, yoh with the new color. Pull through 2 loops on the hook to complete the stitch and proceed in the new color.

Instructions

Front and Back (Make Alike)

With A, ch 20.

1st row: (RS). 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in each ch to end of chain. Turn. 19 sts.

2nd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Turn.

3rd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each of the next 8 sc. 2 sc in each of the next 3 sc. 1 sc in each of the next 8 sc. Turn. 22 sts.

4th row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Turn.

5th row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each of the next 8 sc. 2 sc in each of the next 6 sc. 1 sc in each of the next 8 sc. Join B. Break A. Turn. 28 sts.

6th row: With B, ch 1. 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Turn.

7th row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each of the next 8 sc. (2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in next sc) three times. (1 sc in next sc. 2 sc in next sc) three times. 1 sc in each of the next 8 sc. Turn. 34 sts.

Assembly

With RS facing, sew front and back together aligning stripes and leaving a small space open for stuffing. Stuff pillow making sure to shape into a rainbow arc. Sew remaining seam.
