How to Knit a Beautiful Garment with Brown Bambino Yarn

You’ll Need:

500g of brown Bambino yarn (25% wool, 75% acryl; 130m/50g);

Garter stitch: knit sts;

Main pattern: 1 knit st, 1 purl by turn, replace the pattern to 1 st in every row.

Back

Cast on 92 sts and work with garter stitch for 8 cm. Then, work with the main pattern, decreasing 3 x 1 st in every 10^th row from both sides for better fitting. At 15 cm height from the beginning of work, there should be 86 sts on the knitting needle. Knit 5 cm straight, then increase 4 x 1 st in every 14^th row. At 42 cm height from the beginning of work, there should be 94 sts on the knitting needle. Bind off 1 x 4 sts, 1 x 2 sts, 2 x 1 st from both sides for arm-hole = 78 sts. At 18 cm height of arm-hole, bind off the central 4 sts for neck-hole. Then, finish each side separately, decreasing 1 x 4 sts, 1 x 3 sts from inwards. At the same time, bind off 2 x 10 sts for shoulder chamfer from the opposite side.

Left Front

Cast on 44 sts and make 8 cm of garter stitch straight. Then, make 2 rows of stockinette stitch. Continue working with garter stitch on the first 8 sts for placket and make the rest sts with the main pattern. Decrease 3 x 1 st in every 10^th row from the right side for better fitting. At 15 cm height from the beginning of work, there should be 41 sts on the knitting needle. Knit 5 cm straight, then, increase 4 x 1 st in every 14^th row from the right side. At 27 cm height from the beginning of work, make 18 rows of garter stitch on all the sts. Return to the main pattern, making 8 sts of placket. Increase 1 st in every row from the left side for the collar. At 42 cm height from the beginning of work, make the arm-hole from the right side, continuing to increase sts for the collar from the left side.

At the same height, make the last 2 sts of the main pattern together in every 14^th row from the left side before collar with garter stitch. Make such decreases 9 times. When there are 30 sts of garter stitch, start making decreases in every 4^th row. When the quantity of sts is 35, knit these sts straight. At 18 cm height of arm-hole, bind off 2 x 10 sts for shoulder chamfer. Make the rest 35 sts of garter stitch, the first 20 sts – loosely, the last 15 sts – tight. Make 10 cm (= 40 rows), then bind off all the sts.

Right Front

Make in symmetry to the left front.

Sleeves

Cast on 52 sts and make 8 cm of garter stitch. Then, make 2 rows of stockinette stitch. After that, work with the main pattern, increasing 8 x 1 st in every 14^th row from each side for sleeve chamfers. At 47 cm height from the beginning of work, there should be 68 sts on the knitting needle. Then, bind off 1 x 4 sts and 20 x 1 st from both sides for sleeve caps. Bind off the rest 20 sts.

Assembly

Make the shoulder and back collar seam. Sew the collar to the back neck-hole. Sew up the sleeves, make side and sleeve seams. For the belt, cast on 110 sts and make 20 rows of garter stitch, bind off the sts. Make 2 such details and sew them to the front, as shown in the photo below.
