Knitting Instructions for a Fancy Pattern Sweater

You'll Need

400g of 100% cotton yarn (565m/100g);

Knitting needles 3;

Auxiliary needle.

S/M; M/L.

Used Patterns

Garter Stitch

Make in 2 threads of yarn. Make all knit sts in straight/reversed knitting in all rows;

Relief Pattern

Make in 1 thread of yarn. The quantity of sts is multiplied by 27 + 5 sts.

1st, 3rd, 5th rows: 3 knit sts, * 1 yarn over, 2 knit sts, 1 yarn over, 2 knit sts, 1 yarn over, 3 knit sts, (knit2tog) 6 times, 1 yarn over, 2 knit sts, 1 yarn over, 2 knit sts, 1 yarn over, 1 knit st; repeat from * to * to the last st, knit 3 tog;

2nd, 4th, 6th rows: purl.

Fancy Pattern

Is a combination of the two previous patterns. You'll need to make 4 rows with garter stitch in 2 threads of yarn, then knit 6 rows of relief pattern in 1 thread of yarn. Repeat these 10 rows.

Stitches Control

On fancy pattern - 32 sts x 33 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm.

Instructions

Back

Cast on 140 sts (167 sts) and knit with fancy ornament.

Arm-Holes

At 30 cm, 34 cm (100, 112 rows), bind off the sts in every even row: 4 sts once, 3 sts twice, 2 sts 5 times, 1 st 7 times. Continue straight knitting on the rest 86 (113) sts.

Neck-Hole

At 46 (52) cm (152, 172 rows) transfer 26 (33) sts to the auxiliary needle in the middle. Knit each part separately. Then, knitting all the next rows, transfer the sts to the auxiliary needle in even rows: 5 sts once, 3 sts twice.

Shoulders

At 48 (54) cm (160, 180 rows) bind off the rest sts - 19 (29) sts for each shoulder.

Front

Make in the same way as back to the neck-hole. Bind off the sts for arm-holes at the same height as for back.

Neck-Hole

At 43 (49) cm (142, 162 rows) transfer 12 (19) central sts to the auxiliary needle. Then, knitting all the next rows, transfer 5 sts once, 4 sts once, 3 sts once, 2 sts once of every even row to the auxiliary needle. Then, bind off 1 st 4 times.

Shoulders

Bind off the sts at the same height as for back.

Assembly

Sew one shoulder. Transfer the sts to the working needle from auxiliary needle along the neck-hole and lift 8 sts along bound sts. Make 5 rows of garter stitch in 2 threads of yarn on the obtained 104 (118) sts. Then, bind off all the sts with knit sts on the wrong side of work. Sew the second shoulder.

Lift 90 (102) sts along each arm-hole with 2 threads of yarn. Make 4 rows with garter stitch, then bind off all the sts, knit sts on the wrong side of work. Stitch together the side seams.
