How many chains do you make in order to make this Crochet Wavy Blanket?  Are there seperate sizes you can make and how would I go about changing the sizes? If I make a baby blanket in this pattern, how many chains to start and what size hook? If I want to then make a blanket in this pattern how do I decide how many chains to start and what size hook for one to fit on a queen size bed with some hang over on the sides?  Is there one formula for whatever blanket you are making even if pattern is different from this one?

Thank you so much. I have always had trouble deciding how many chains and how to make the blanket larger or smaller.
