Materials

For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-
110 grams of King Cole Cottonsoft DK in color 1
50 grams of King Cole Cottonsoft DK in color 2
An equivalent yarn would be a light worsted #3 100% cotton
5.00mm Clover crochet hook

Using color 1 ch52, work (1ps, ch1, 1ps) in 5th ch from hook, * skip 2ch, (1ps, ch1, 1ps) in next ch, * rpt from * to * to last 2ch, skip 1ch, 1dc in last ch. Turn. (see the abbrev for ps instructions) (16ps groups)

2nd Row – ch3, work 1ps group (see abbrev) in each ch1 space to end, 1dc in top of tch. Turn.
Rpt 2nd Row in color sequence as follows:-

Twice in color 1
Twice in color 2
Twice in color 1
Twice in color 2
Sixteen in color 1

Twice in color 2
Twice in color 1
Twice in color 2

Four in color 1

You should have 36 rows have been worked in all. Turn.
Fasten off. Join in color 2.

Border – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, skip 1ps, 1sc in each ch1 space and ps to last ps and 3tch, skip ps, 3sc in top of ch3, work 71sc evenly in row ends down first side of towel, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each ch along starting ch edge to last ch and 3tch, skip ch1, 3sc in top of tch, work 71sc evenly in row ends up second side of towel, 1sc in base of ch1, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.

Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1sc in each sc around towel to end, working 3sc in corners, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.
