Pattern Notes
- Stitches within ( ) are to be made into the same stitch, chain, or chain space (as instructed).
- Stitches contained within ** are the repeat section for that row as many times as indicated in the number following the *.
- The pattern starts with creating the petals, then the center of the flower.
I have broken down each row into steps so you can follow along with the photo tutorial.
The Flower
With white, create a magic ring.
Row 1: ch1, 6 hdc in the magic ring, pull the tail to close the magic ring, sl st to close the round, turn = 6 hdc sts
This is what you will end up with for the first row.
Row 2: **ch3, * yo, insert the hook into the next hdc below, yo and pull up a long loop * × 8 (you’ll have 17 loops on your hook), yo and pull through all loops on the hook except the top ch of ch 3 (you’ll have 2 loops left on the hook), yo and pull through both loops on the hook, ch3, sl st in the same st from where you pulled the loops ** × 6 fasten off, leave a long tail = 6 puff sts (petals)
Forming the flower petals step by step.
The Center
With yellow, join anywhere in the center of the flower with a slip knot.
Ch4, * yo, insert hook into the 3rd ch from the hook, yo and pull up a loop * × 5 (you’ll have 11 loops on your hook), yo and pull through 10 loops (leave out the ch of ch 5, you’ll have 2 loops on your hook), yo and pull through the 2 loops on the hook.
Starting the flower’s center.
Fasten off and pull the end in and out the center of the flower, opposite where you joined. Both your ends should be on the right side. Make a knot and hide the ends under the flower center.
Now you have a finished piece.
