Yarn - acryl or cotton (about 2,5 kg depending on the size you want)

Crochet hook H

Abbreviations

st - stitches
BP dc - Back post double crochet
ps - puff stitches
sc - single crochet

At first, let's crochet the sample "spider" due to the scheme.

Cast on 43 chain st.

1-st row: 3 chain st., 3BP 1 dc, 3 times of BP 1 dc in every third stitch of the chain, 13 ps, 3BP 1 dc in the sixth st., 4 times of 3BP 1 dc in every third stitch and repeat the pattern one more time, 2BP 1 dc in the last stitch of the chain in the end of the row. 3ps, turn the work.

2-nd row: 3 times of 3BP 1 dc in between the crochet of the previous row (6ps, 1 sc under the arc of ps, 6ps, 4 times of 3BP 1 dc, repeat the pattern.

3-rd row: if you look at the scheme, you'll see, that the quantity of BP dc decreases, and your "spider" grows. 3ps, 1BP 1 dc , 2 times of 3BP 1 dc , 6ps, 3sc, 6ps, groups of crochets etc.

4-th row: 3ps, 2 times of 3BP 1 dc , 6ps, 5sc, 2 times of 3BP 1 dc, repeat the pattern.

5-th row: 3ps, 1BP 1 dc , 3BP 1 dc , 6ps, 7sc, 6ps and continue due to the scheme.

Then the quantity of BP dc increases, and your "spider" is getting smaller.

6-th row: as 4th.

7-th row: as 3rd.

8-th row: as 1st.

Then you can repeat the pattern from the 1-st row to the 8-th.

How to calculate stitches for your throw

Cast on a chain of ps, approximately equal to the width of the future throw.
To knit the first row, we take another skein and start knitting from the beginning of the chain, and not from the end. The thread from the first hank is not cut off yet.

Thus, having knitted the first row, it will be possible to more accurately determine the width and, if necessary, tie the chain or dissolve it.
