Knitting needles size 6.

Size:

Patterns and Techniques

Stockinette Stitch

Right-side rows: knit stitches; wrong-side rows: purls.

Cable 1

Make on 36 stitches according to scheme 1. Only right-side rows are shown; make wrong-side rows according to the ornament.

The vertical pattern repeat ranges from the 1st to the 16th rows.

Cable 2

Make on 36 stitches according to scheme 2. Only right-side rows are shown; make wrong-side rows according to the ornament. The vertical pattern repeat ranges from the 1st to the 16th rows.

Patent Edge

On 4 stitches: slip 4 stitches in the right-side row as purls, with yarn behind the work, tighten, and make purls in wrong-side rows.

Highlighted Decreases

From right side - 1 selvedge stitch, 1 knit stitch, knit two together; from left side - knit two together with left decline (i.e., slip 1 knit stitch, 1 knit stitch, draw it through the slipped stitch), 1 knit stitch, 1 selvedge stitch.

Rib

The number of stitches is multiples of 4 + 2 selvedge stitches. In the right-side row, make *1 selvedge stitch, 1 purl, 2 knit stitches, 1 purl*; repeat from * to *, ending with 1 selvedge stitch. In wrong-side rows, knit according to the ornament.

Stitches Control:

18 stitches x 22.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm (stockinette stitch);

On Cable 1 (=36 stitches) + 4 stitches of patent edge, total width is 12.5 cm;

On Cable 2 (=28 stitches) width is 9 cm.

Back

Cast on 96-104-112 stitches in a criss-cross way and make 136-130-124 rows (=60.5cm - 58cm - 55.5cm) of stockinette stitch.

Bind off 1 x 5 stitches - 1 x 6 stitches - 1 x 7 stitches from the next row for the raglan line from both sides, then decrease every even row by 21 x 1 stitch - 24 x 1 stitch - 27 x 1 stitch.

After making 180 rows (= 80 cm), bind off 44 stitches on the knitting needles.

Left Front

Cast on 67-71-75 stitches in a criss-cross way and make 1 selvedge stitch, followed by 26-30-34 stitches of stockinette stitch, 36 stitches of cable, and 4 stitches of patent edge.

Make the raglan line along the right side similar to the previous detail.

At the same height as the previous detail, leave 41 stitches for making the placket.

Right Front

Make in reflection to the left front.

Sleeves

Cast on 54-58-62 stitches in a criss-cross way for one sleeve and knit the placket with a "rib" ornament up to 8 cm height. Finish with 1 wrong-side row, increasing 20 stitches with equal intervals. There are 74-78-82 stitches in work.

Continue working as follows: 1 selvedge stitch, 22-24-26 stitches of stockinette stitch, 28 stitches of Cable 2, 22-24-26 stitches of stockinette stitch, and ending with 1 selvedge stitch.

Make increases simultaneously for sleeve chamfers with stockinette stitch every 12th row from the placket: 6 x 1 stitch - 10 x 1 stitches in every 8th and 10th rows alternately - 10 x 1 stitch in every 6th and 8th rows. There are now 86-94-102 stitches in work.

Form raglan lines starting from the 84th row - 78th row - 72nd row (= 37 cm - 34.5 cm - 32 cm) from the placket.

After making 127 rows (= 56 cm) from the placket, make the first two and edging stitches of cable in 1 knit stitch in the next wrong-side row, then purl two together in the middle of the cable once.

These decreases are not stated in the pattern design.

After making 128 rows (= 56.5 cm) from the placket, bind off all the stitches on the knitting needle (= 31 stitches).

Assembly

Make raglan seams.

Transfer open stitches of fronts to the knitting needle and continue knitting for 42 rows (= 18.5 cm) according to the ornament. Bind off the stitches.

Sew up the seams on the shoulders.

Sew up the short sides of plackets to make a common detail. Attach it to the upper lines of sleeves and the neck-hole from the back. Finally, complete sleeve and side seams.
