First Row Instructions

1^st row: Make a chain and circle it by means of slip stitch. * 3 chain stitches in the same stitch where you circle the row, 4 double crochets, skip 4 stitches, 5 double crochets in the 5^th stitch from the crochet hook, skip 4 stitches, 5 double crochets in the 5^th stitch from the crochet hook*; repeat from * to * to end of row.

Second Row Instructions

2^nd row: Turn your work to the wrong side and crochet in the reversed order. * 3 double crochets in the place of the lower row connection, 1 puff stitch, insert the crochet hook between 2 edging crochets in the shell of the lower row. Yarn over, insert the crochet hook, catch the yarn and draw to the height of the new row*; repeat from * to * twice. Yarn over, draw stitch, yarn over, draw stitch. Catch the yarn and draw it through all the stitches, except the last one. Crochet 2 stitches on the crochet hook, 4 double crochets in the last crochet of the next shell, puff stitch between the 4^th and 5^th crochets on the shell, 4 double crochets, puff stitch; repeat to end of row. Slip stitch in the 3^rd chain stitch increase, make 3 chain stitches. Turn.

Repeating the Second Row

Repeat the 2^nd row: 3 double crochets in the same stitch, puff stitch between crochets.

Continuing the Work

Continue work to the end of the row, slip stitch, 3 chain stitches increase, turn.
