Easy Guide to Knitting a Cozy Sweater with Viscose Yarn

You’ll Need:

800g of woolen worsted yarn with viscose content in brown color;

Knitting needles 5 and 5.5;

5 wooden buttons.

Garter Stitch:

All knit stitches;

Pearled Pattern:

1 knit stitch, 1 purl by turn, replacing the pattern every 1 row;

Fancy Pattern:

Follow the scheme provided.

Stitches Control:

20 stitches x 14 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions:

Back:

Cast on 78 stitches with knitting needles 5 and make 3 cm of garter stitch. Continue work with knitting needles 5.5, dividing the stitches as follows: 10 stitches of pearled pattern, 18 stitches according to the scheme, 22 stitches of pearled pattern, 18 stitches according to the scheme, and 10 stitches of pearled pattern. Total height should be 66 cm.

Right Front:

Cast on 42 stitches with knitting needles 5 and make 3 cm of garter stitch. Continue work with knitting needles 5.5, dividing the stitches as follows: 14 stitches of pearled pattern, 18 stitches according to the scheme, and 10 stitches of pearled pattern. At 43 cm height, bind off 2 stitches from the side seam and then, decrease 18 x 1 stitch every 2nd row for arm-hole. At the same time, replace 8 x 1 stitch according to the scheme with pearled pattern for a better form of collar. After finishing raglan decreases, at 63 cm height, continue work on 22 stitches of collar for 19 cm, then bind off 2 x 6 stitches and 2 x 5 stitches.

Left Front:

Make in symmetry to the right front.

Sleeves:

Cast on 30 stitches with knitting needles 5 and make 3 cm of garter stitch. Continue work with knitting needles 5.5, making the first and last 6 stitches with pearled pattern and the central 18 stitches according to the scheme. At the same time, increase 13 x 1 stitch every 6th row from both sides = 56 stitches. At 50 cm height from the beginning of work, bind off 2 stitches from both sides for sleeve caps, then decrease 21 x 1 stitch every 2nd row, 18 x 1 stitch from the front side, and 3 x 3 stitches and 3 x 4 stitches every 2nd row. Total height is 73 cm.

Make the second sleeve in symmetry.

Assembly:

Make seams and sew up the sleeves in the arm-holes. Sew the collar to the back neck-hole. Make 5 holes for buttons and sew the buttons on.
