Knitting Instructions for a Stylish Blue Shanina Yarn Garment

You’ll Need:

450 (500) 550g of blue Shanina yarn (40% polyamide, 30% wool, 30% polyacryl; 75m/50g);

Long circle knitting needles 9;

Crochet hook 6;

Blue satin lace 175 (185) 195 x 2.5 cm.

Size:

S (M) L-XL.

Used Patterns

• 1 x 1 rib;
• Relief pattern: the quantity of stitches is multiple of 4 + 1 + 2 selvage stitches.
  Work according to the scheme, where only RS rows are stated, make WS rows and yarn overs as purls. Start with 1 selvage stitch and stitches before pattern repeat A, repeat pattern A x 5 (6) 7 times, include stitches between patterns once, repeat pattern B x 5 (6) 7 times, finish with stitches after pattern repeat B and 1 selvage stitch.

Note: the quantity of yarn overs should be the same as the quantity of stitches knit together or as broachings and vice versa.

Repeat 1^st-8^th rows.

Stitches Control:

11 stitches x 19 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Back

Cast on 49 (57) 65 stitches and make 17 cm of rib between selvage stitches, starting and finishing with 1 purl. Then, increase 1 stitch from both sides = 51 (59) 67 stitches and work with relief pattern. In 7.5 cm = 14 rows (9.5 cm = 18 rows) 11.5 cm = 22 rows from rib, increase 1 stitch from both sides for bat-sleeves, 1 x 1 stitch in the next 4^th row and 2 x 1 stitch, 1 x 2 stitches, 1 x 3 stitches, 2 x 4 stitches, 1 x 5 stitches, 1 x 8 stitches, 1 x 9 stitches in every 2^nd row = 129 (137) 145 stitches, include the increased stitches in relief pattern. In 35 cm = 66 rows (39 cm = 74 rows) 43 cm = 82 rows from rib, bind off all the stitches, the central 27 stitches form neck-hole, the outer 51 (55) 59 stitches from each side – shoulder-sleeves.

Front

Make in the same way as back, but with V-shape neck-hole. For this, in 17 cm = 32 rows (21 cm = 40 rows), 25 cm = 48 rows from rib, make 1 knit stitch and 1 cross knit stitch (selvage stitch) from the central stitch, divide your work between these stitches and finish both sides separately. For chamfer, knit both stitches before selvage stitch together or both stitches after selvage stitch together as broaching (slip 1 knit stitch, 1 knit stitch, draw it through the slipped stitch) x 14 times from the edge of neck-hole in every 2^nd row.

Assembly

Make shoulder and upper sleeve seams. Fasten the back neck-hole with 1 row of “shrimp stitch” using crochet hook. Cast on 29 (33) 37 stitches along the edges of sleeves and make 5 cm of rib, then bind off the stitches according to the ornament. Make side and lower sleeve seams. Insert satin lace in criss-cross in the center of the front and make a bow on the waist.
