You’ll Need

700g of blue yarn (51% sheep wool, 49% polyacryl; 90m/50g);

Straight and circular knitting needles size 5.

Size: S-M.

Used Patterns

1 x 1 Rib

Only RS rows are stated on the scheme, make WS rows according to the pattern. Start with 1 selvage stitch and stitches before the pattern repeat (only for scheme 2), then pattern repeat, finishing with stitches after pattern repeat and 1 selvage stitch.

Pattern with Cables A

The quantity of stitches is a multiple of 14 + 3 + 2 selvage stitches. Work according to scheme 1. Repeat rows 1st-4th.

Pattern with Cables B

Initially, the quantity of stitches is a multiple of 28 + 17 + 2 selvage stitches. Work according to scheme 2. After all the increases in the 1st row, the quantity of stitches becomes a multiple of 34 + 19 + 2 selvage stitches. Repeat rows 1st-34th once, then repeat rows 3rd-24th.

Pattern with Cables C

Initially, the quantity of stitches is a multiple of 14 + 3 + 2 selvage stitches. Work according to scheme 3. After increases in the 1st row, the quantity of stitches changes to a multiple of 15 + 4 + 2 selvage stitches. Repeat rows 1st-6th once, then repeat rows 3rd-6th.

Stitches Control

Pattern with cables B: 22.5 sts x 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Pattern with cables C: 21.5 sts x 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Back

Cast on 103 stitches and knit 9 cm = 24 rows of pattern A for the placket. Then, work with the pattern with cables B, making increases in the 1st row to a total of 123 stitches. At 34 cm = 82 rows from the placket, bind off 9 stitches for armholes on both sides (knit3tog in the cables) = 105 stitches. At 53.3 cm = 128 rows from the placket, bind off 8 stitches from both sides for sleeve chamfers and 3 x 8 stitches in every 2nd row. At the same time as the 1st shoulder decrease, bind off the central 21 stitches (knit3tog in the cables) and finish both sides separately. For a smooth rounding, bind off 1 x 7 stitches and 1 x 3 stitches in every 2nd row from the inner side. At 56 cm = 134 rows from the placket, bind off all stitches.

Front

Knitted in the same way as the back, but with a deeper neck-hole. For this, at 51 cm = 122 rows from the placket, bind off the central 13 stitches and then bind off 1 x 5 stitches, 1 x 4 stitches, 1 x 3 stitches, and 2 x 1 stitch in every 2nd row.

Sleeves

Cast on 61 stitches and knit 9 cm = 24 rows with pattern with cables A for the placket. Then, work with the pattern with cables C, making increases in the 1st row to 66 stitches. Simultaneously, increase 9 x 1 stitch in every 8th row from both sides for sleeve chamfers = 84 stitches, including the increased stitches in the pattern. At 37.5 cm = 90 rows from the placket, bind off all stitches.

Assembly

Make shoulder seams; cast on 84 stitches with knitting needles along the neck-hole line for the collar and work with ribbing. At a collar height of 10 cm, continue working from WS with pattern with cables C, repeating the pattern and making increases in the 1st row = 90 stitches. At 25 cm height of the collar, bind off all stitches according to the pattern. Sew up the sleeves, and make side and sleeve seams.
