Knitting Instructions for L-XL Sweater with Blue Magic Yarn

You’ll Need:

450g of mélange blue Magic yarn (100% microfiber; 152m/50g);

Knitting needles 3.5;

1 button.

Size:

L-XL.

Note:

Work in 2 threads of yarn.

Stitches Control:

20 sts x 26 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions:

Back

Cast on 110 sts and work with 2 x 2 rib, starting with 1 purl. Starting from the 3^rd row, decrease 14 x 1 st in every 2^nd RS row from both sides.

For this, make knit2tog from the right side and broaching from the left side. Then, increase 14 x 1 st in every 2^nd RS row, making the increased sts as knit sts. At 24 cm height from the set-up row, work with stockinette stitch. At 32 cm height from the set-up row, bind off 5 sts from both sides for arm-holes, then decrease 7 x 1 st in every 2^nd row. At 49 cm height from the set-up row, bind off all the sts.

Right Front

Cast on 50 sts and work with 2 x 2 rib, starting with 2 purls. Make decreases in the following way: divide all the sts in half and make decreases only from the left side. Starting from the center to the edge of front, decrease 6 x 1 st in every 4^th row by means of knit2tog. After that, increase 3 x 1 st in every 4^th RS row, starting from the edge to the center of front. At 24 cm height from the beginning of rib, work with stockinette stitch for 8 cm. Then, make arm-hole from the left side in the same way as for back. At the same time with the beginning of making arm-hole, bind off 2 x 3 sts and 7 x 1 st in every 2^nd row from the right side for neck-hole. At 49 cm height from the set-up row, bind off the rest sts of shoulder.

Left Front

Make in symmetry to the right front.

Sleeves

Cast on 60 sts and make 4 cm of 1 x 1 rib. Then, work with stockinette stitch, increasing 6 x 1 st in every 2^nd row from both sides for sleeve chamfers. At 7.5 cm height from rib, bind off 1 x 10 sts, 1 x 3 sts, and 1 x 2 sts in every 2^nd row from both sides for sleeve caps. At 25 cm height from the set-up row, bind off the rest sts.

Assembly

Sew up the sleeves and make side and sleeve seams. Cast on 43 sts along the front edges and make 4 cm of 1 x 1 rib, then bind off the sts according to the pattern. Cast on 116 sts along the edge of the neck-hole and make 4 cm of rib. Bind off the sts. Make a button-loop and sew the button.
