How to Create a Beautiful Knitted Garment Using Relief Patterns and Cables


You’ll Need
400g of Estate yarn in white color (90% cotton, 10% polyamide; 130m/50g);
Straight knitting needles 4.5 and 6;
Crochet hook 5.

Basic Stitches
2 x 2 rib, knitting needles 4.5;
Stockinette stitch: in RS rows – knit sts, in WS rows – purls;
Relief Pattern with Cables
Relief pattern with cables 12 sts wide, knitting needles 6: due to the scheme. Start with sts before pattern repeat, pattern repeat, finish with sts after pattern repeat.
Repeat 1st-20th rows;
Edge with Arches
1st circle row: single crochets;
2nd circle row: arches (= * 1 slip st, skip 2 sts, 5 double crochets in the next st, skip 2 sts*; repeat from * to *).
Stitches Control
Relief pattern with cables: 17.5 sts x 23.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm;
Single crochets: 16.5 sts x 22 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Instructions
Back
Cast on 94 sts and make 10 cm of rib, increase 3 sts in the last row. Then, work with relief pattern with cables between selvedge sts. In 50 cm from rib, bind off the sts. Make 71 single crochets along the bound off edge. Make 18 cm from the beginning with single crochets and finish your work.
Front
Make in the same way as back, but with straps. For this, in 18 cm from the beginning of single crochets, leave 13 sts unfinished from both sides for arm-holes and the central 29 sts for the neck-hole. Make straps on the rest 8 single crochets from both sides. Finish them in 40 cm.
Assembly
Sew the straps to the upper part of back. Fasten the neck-hole line, inner sides of straps, arm-holes, and outer sides of straps with edge with arches.
