How to Make a Crochet Coat with Hood and Ears

You’ll Need:

200g of white wool or beige;

100g of pink wool;

100g of purple wool;

Crochet hook 3.5 mm;

6 buttons.

Instructions

Coat

Yoke

Start with 74 chains.

Round 1: 3 chains, 12 double crochet. The 3 chains at the beginning are counted as double crochet. This part is the front: 1 chain, 1 double crochet in the same stitch, 15 double crochet.

This part is the sleeves: 1 chain, 1 double crochet in the same stitch, 15 double crochet. This part is the back: 1 chain, 1 double crochet in the same stitch, 15 double crochet. This part is the sleeves: 1 chain, 1 double crochet in the same stitch, 12 double crochet. This part is the front.

Round 2: Here we will make the buttonhole: 1 slip stitch, 2 chains, 2 double crochet. To make the buttonhole, we always start with 3 double crochet, 2 chains, skip 2 stitches, 7 double crochet.

Remember: the 3 starting chains count as 1 double crochet.

Round 3: 1 slip stitch, 2 chains, 13 double crochet, followed by reaching the next corner. When we get to the next corner, make 1 double crochet, 1 chain, 1 double crochet in each corner (we will have to increase). End with 1 double crochet, 1 chain, and 1 double crochet.

Assembly

Skirt

In the 1st round, we increase 5 double crochet in the same stitch every 10 stitches.

Sleeves

Make 2 chains. 1 double crochet in each stitch around the whole sleeve.

Finish the round with a slip stitch.

In the next round, work inside (in the opposite direction).

So let's work one round inside and one outside.

Work until you reach the desired length.

Work 10 rounds in white, 6 rounds in pink, and 4 rounds in purple.

To finish the fist, the total length should be 24 cm.

Hood

Start from where the buttonhole ends.

Make 3 chains, then: 2 double crochet together, 2 double crochet, repeat from the *

Finish with the same number of double crochets as you started with.

In the next round, work 1 double crochet in each stitch.

Work for 18 rounds to achieve a height of 22 centimeters or 8.6 inches.

Around the hood, make 5 rounds of double crochet.

Ears

Make two equal pieces for each ear.

Start with a magic ring, 3 chains, 9 double crochet.

Close the ring.

3 rounds: 3 chains, 1 double crochet in each stitch.

Once we have the two pieces, join with a slip stitch.

Tie

For the loop, we are going to make a rectangle of 30 chains and 8 rounds in double crochet.

Work with a 2.5 mm hook to make it firm.

It's a very simple tie, but you can create it differently to your liking.
