Knitting with 100% Wool Yarn


You’ll Need
100g of 100% wool yarn (175m/50g);
Knitting needles 3 and 3.5;
Auxiliary needle.
Used Patterns
Double Rib
Cast on ½ of the needed quantity of stitches with auxiliary yarn:
1st row: main yarn: *1 knit stitch, 1 yarn over*; repeat from * to * to end of row;
2nd row: *1 yarn over, 1 knit stitch, slip 1 purl, don’t finish it, yarn in front of work*; repeat from * to * to end of row;
3rd row: *1 knit stitch, slip 1 purl, yarn in front of work*; repeat from * to * to end of row.
Make the 3rd row one more time. After finishing your work, take off the auxiliary yarn.
2 x 2 Rib
Stockinette Stitch
In right side rows – knit stitches, in wrong side rows – purls;
Wrong-Side
In right side rows – purls, in wrong side rows – knit stitches;
Garter Stitch
All knit stitches;
Small Cable (Right)
Is made on 2 stitches:
1st row: cross 2 stitches to right (make the 2nd knit stitch, insert the right-hand needle in front of the 1st stitch, don’t slip it, knit the 1st stitch, slip both stitches);
2nd row: 2 purls;
3rd row: repeat from the 1st row;
Small Cable (Left)
Is made on 2 stitches:
1st row: cross 2 stitches to left (make the 2nd knit stitch, insert the right-hand needle behind the 1st stitch, don’t slip it, knit the 1st stitch, slip both stitches);
2nd row: 2 purls;
3rd row: repeat from the 1st row;
Simple Cable
Is made on 4 stitches:
1st row: knit;
2nd, 4th rows: purl;
3rd row: cross 4 stitches to right (leave 3 stitches on the auxiliary needle behind work, 1 knit stitch, knit stitches from the auxiliary needle);
5th row: repeat from the 1st row;
Criss-Cross Pattern
The quantity of stitches is multiple of 5 + 2 stitches:
1st row: 1 purl, *2 purls, cross 3 stitches to right (leave 1 stitch on the auxiliary needle behind work, 2 knit stitches, purls from the auxiliary needle)*; repeat from * to * to the last stitch, 1 purl;
2nd and all the even rows: due to the ornament;
3rd row: *1 purl, cross 3 stitches to right, 1 purl*; repeat from * to * to the last stitch, 1 purl;
5th row: 1 purl, *cross 3 stitches to right, 2 purls*; repeat from * to * to the last stitch, 1 purl;
7th row: 1 purl, *cross 3 stitches to left (leave 2 stitches on the auxiliary needle in front of work, 1 purl, knit stitches from the auxiliary needle), 2 purls*; repeat from * to * to the last stitch, 1 purl;
9th row: 1 purl, *1 purl, cross 3 stitches to left, 1 purl*; repeat from * to * to the last stitch, 1 purl;
11th row: 1 purl, *2 purls, cross 3 stitches to left*; repeat from * to * to the last stitch, 1 purl.
Stitch Control
With knitting needles 3.5: 36 stitches x 33 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Instructions
Cast on 52 stitches with knitting needles 3 and make 4 rows of double rib. Then, turn to the knitting needles 3.5. Next row: *1 stitch of stockinette stitch, 1 stitch of wrong-side pattern, 2 stitches of small cable to right, 1 stitch of wrong-side pattern, 1 stitch of stockinette stitch, 2 stitches of wrong-side pattern, 2 stitches of stockinette stitch, 2 stitches of wrong-side pattern*; repeat from * to * one more time, 4 stitches of simple cable – center of the glove, **2 stitches of wrong-side pattern, 2 stitches of stockinette stitch, 1 stitch of stockinette stitch, 1 stitch of wrong-side pattern, 2 stitches of small cable to left, 1 stitch of wrong-side pattern, 1 stitch of stockinette stitch**; repeat from ** to ** one more time. Increase 1 stitch 7 times in every 10th row from both sides. After 24 cm from the lower row, make 2 rows of garter stitch, 2 rows of wrong-side pattern. After 29.5 cm from the lower edge, bind off all the stitches.
Make the second glove in the same way. Sew the end of the glove to 3.5 cm, skip 4 cm for the thumb and finish the seam.
