Instructions

S/M (L/XL)

Rnd 1. Fdc 18 (24), if you are unfamiliar with foundation stitches, then you can chain 20 (26) and dc in the 3rd ch from your hook (skipped chs do not count) and dc in each ch around, join with sl st. For fdc you can use the tail to join the bottom, or use this foundation round joining technique.


Rnd 2. Ch 3, FPdc in next st, *{dc in next st, FPdc in next st} rep from * around, join with sl st. (18, 24 sts)


Rnds 3-7. Rep Rnd 2. (18, 24 sts) = 3”/7.75cm tall x 3.75” wide


S/M Follow Row 8a. L/XL follow 8b.

*After working the next few rounds check your width and make any adjustments, if necessary.


Row 8a. Ch 3, dc in next st, 2 dc in next st, *{dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st} rep from * to end, join with sl st. (24 sts)


Row 8b. Ch 3, dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st, *{dc in next 3 sts, 2 dc in next st} rep from * to end, join with sl st. (30 sts)


Row 9. Ch 3, dc in next 2, FPdc in next 3 sts, *{dc in next 3 sts, FPdc in next 3 sts} rep from * around, join with sl st. (24, 30 sts)


Row 10. Ch 2, FPdc in same st and next 2 sts, dc in next 3 sts, *{FPdc in next 3 sts, dc in next 3 sts} rep from * around, join with sl st. (24, 30 sts) Check that your width = 3.5”/9cm (4.25”/11cm), if it is larger/smaller here you may need to adjust your hook size.

Row 12. (WS) Ch 3, BPdc in next 2 sts, dc in next 3 sts, *{BPdc in next 3 sts, dc in next 3 sts} rep from * around, don’t join, turn. (24, 30 sts)


Row 13. (RS) Ch 3, dc in next 2, FPdc in next 3 sts, *{dc in next 3 sts, FPdc in next 3 sts} rep from * around, don’t join, turn. (24, 30 sts)


Row 14. (WS) Ch 3, dc in next 2, BPdc in next 3 sts, *{dc in next 3 sts, BPdc in next 3 sts} rep from * around, don’t join, turn. (24, 30 sts)


Row 15. (RS) Ch 2, FPdc in same st and in next 2 sts, dc into next 3 sts, *{FPdc in next 3 sts, dc in next 3 sts} rep from * around, join with sl st, but don’t turn continue working in the same direction. This closes the top of the thumbhole. (24, 30 sts)
