Stitch Abbreviations
Hdc = half double crochet US style.
Dc = double crochet US style.
2dc = 2 dc crochet into same stitch.
2 tog = crochet next 2 stitches together.
Instructions
RND 1: Ch 32 join to 1st chain to make a loop. Ch3 (counts as 1st dc) dc into the back loop of each st. Slip st to 3rd ch of ch 3 to join. (32 dc)
RND 2-7: Ch 3, dc into each stitch, slip st to 3rd ch of ch 3 to join.
RND 8: Ch 3, dc into next 14 stitches, 2dc, 2dc, dc into next 15 stitches, slip st to 3rd ch of ch 3 to join.
RND 9: Ch 3, dc into next 14 stitches, 2dc, dc into next 2 stitches, 2dc, dc into next 15 stitches.
RND 10: Ch 3, dc into next 14 stitches, 2dc, dc into next 4 stitches, 2dc, dc into next 15, slip st to 3rd ch of ch 3 to join.
RND 11: Ch 3, dc into next 14 stitches, 2dc, dc into next 6 stitches, 2dc, dc into next 15 slip st to 3rd ch of ch 3 to join.
RND 12: Ch 3, dc into next 14 stitches, dc into next 8 stitches, 2dc, dc into next 15, slip st to 3rd ch of ch 3 to join.
RND 13: Ch 3, dc into next 15 stitches, skip next 10 stitches, dc into last 16 stitches, slip st to 3rd ch of ch 3 to join.
RND 14: Ch 3, dc into same stitch (making a 2dc stitch) *ch 1, skip one stitch, dc into next stitch, ch 1, skip 1 stitch, 2dc into next stitch* 7 times, ch 1, skip 1 stitch, 2dc into next stitch, ch 1 and slip st to 3rd ch of ch 3 to join.
RND 15: Inserting the hook behind the ch 3 that makes up the first dc of the 2dc, work 2hdc followed by 3dc. Turning the work and going back up the post of the second dc of the 2dc, work 3dc followed by 2hdc slip st to the top of the next dc to join. Repeat for each 2dc.
RND 16: Ch 3, dc into same stitch (making a 2dc stitch), ch 1, dc into the space in the middle of the dragon scale, ch 1, 2dc into the gap between the dragon scales, ch 1. Repeat 7 times, ch 1 and join to the 3rd ch of the ch3.
RND 17: Repeat row 15.
RND 18: Repeat row 16.
RND 19: Repeat row 15.
RND 20: Repeat row 16.
RND 21: Repeat row 15.
