​Seeded Knit Fingerless Gloves

Materials

1 skein of medium weight yarn (157 yds/3oz)
4 size 8 (5mm) DPNs
Yarn needle

Gauge: 4 stitches=1 inch, 6 rows=1 inch

Pattern

Cast on 39 sts. Knit the first row.
Note: If you are going to be changing the size of these gloves, be sure the number of stitches is a multiple of 2 plus 1.
Beginning Seed Stitch
Rd 1: p1, *k1, p1, rep from * to end of round.
Rd 2: k1, *p1, k1, rep from * to end of round.
Repeat these 2 rounds until you have 10 rows.

Decreasing

Rd 1: k2tog, knit to end of round. 38 sts.
Rd 2: knit.
Repeat these 2 rounds until there are 35 sts.
Knit 20 rounds.
Increasing
Rd 1: M1, knit to end. 36 sts.
Rd 2: knit.
Repeat these 2 rounds once more. 37 sts.

Palm (seed stitch)

Rd 1: p1, *k1, p1, rep from * to end of round.
Rd 2: k1, *p1, k1, rep from * to end of round.
Repeat these two rounds until there are 10 rounds.

Thumb Hole

Here you will be knitting back and forth-not in the round.
Row 1 (WS): k1, *p1, k1, rep from * to end of row.
Row 2: repeat row 1.
Repeat these 2 rows until there are 10 rows.
Now you will continue back with knitting in the round.
Rd 1: p1, *k1, p1, rep from * to end of round.
Rd 2: k1, *p1, k1, rep from * to end of round.
Repeat these two rounds until there are 14 rounds.
Knit the next row and then bind off leaving an 8″ (20.5 cm) tail. Use yarn needle to weave in end.
