Knitting Instructions for a Denim Color Sweater

You’ll Need:

400 (400) 450g of denim color Clou yarn (75% sheep wool, 25% polyacryl; 85m/50g);

Straight and circular knitting needles size 7.

Cable (24 sts): due to the scheme, on which only RS rows are stated, make WS rows as purls.

2 x 2 rib.

Stitches Control:

• Garter stitch: 12 sts x 19.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm;
• Cable: 24 sts = 11 cm wide;
• Rib: 16 sts x 17 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Back:

Start with the right sleeve, cast on 33 (35) 37 sts and work as follows: 1 selvedge st, 1 (3) 5 sts of garter stitch, 24 sts of cable, 6 sts of garter stitch, 1 selvedge st. At the same time, increase 1 st in the next 2^nd row for sleeve chamfer from the right side and 11 x 1 st in every 4^th and 6^th row by turns of garter stitch = 45 (47) 49 sts. In 38 cm = 74 rows (40 cm = 78 rows) 42 cm = 82 rows from the set-up row (middle of back), knit in symmetry (increases will become decreases). In 76 cm = 148 rows (80 cm = 156 rows) 84 cm = 164 rows from the set-up row, bind off the remaining 33 (35) 37 sts.

Front:

Make in the same way, but with a deeper neck-hole. For this, in 29.5 cm = 58 rows from the set-up row, bind off 2 sts from the right side, 1 x 2 sts, 1 x 1 st in every 2^nd row, and 1 x 1 st in the next 4^th row = 39 (41) 43 sts. In 38 cm = 74 rows (40 cm = 78 rows) 42 cm = 82 rows from the set-up row (middle of front), knit in symmetry and finish your work.

Assembly:

Make shoulder seams. Make sleeve seams from both sides on 15 cm. Cast on 40 (44) 48 sts with circular knitting needles along the lower edges of sleeves and make 12 cm = 20 circular rows of rib, then bind off the sts according to the ornament. At 44.5 cm of the collar = 76 circular rows (47 cm = 80 circular rows) 49.5 cm = 84 circular rows, bind off the sts according to the ornament.
