Getting Started with Slip Stitch

Start with a slip stitch using both colors of yarn. Transfer it to the left-hand needle. Insert the right-hand needle into the stitch from yarn 1, catching yarn 2, and knit.

Alternating Colors

Then, follow these steps:

• Insert the needle under yarn 2.
• Catch yarn 1.
• Make a yarn over.
• Insert the right-hand needle into the stitches of yarn color 2 on the left-hand needle.
• Insert the needle under yarn 2 again.
• Catch yarn 1 and make a stitch with it.
• Return the new stitch to the left-hand needle.
• Tighten yarn 2.
