How to Knit a Cozy Cashmere Plaid

Complete Guide to Knitting a Cozy Cashmere Plaid with Detailed Instructions

Materials Needed

You'll need:

  • 500g of cashmere yarn;
  • Circle knitting needles 5.5 mm.

Stitch Control

Stitches control: 24 sts x 25 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Size

Size: 76 x 76 cm.

Instructions

Cast on 161 sts. Make 6 rows of garter stitch, increasing 15 sts in the last row.

Row Instructions:

  • 1st, 5th, 7th rows: 6 knit sts, *2 purls, 6 knit sts, 2 purls, 1 knit st*; repeat from * to * to last 5 sts, 5 knit sts;
  • 2nd and all the even rows: 5 knit sts, *1 purl, 2 knit sts, 6 purls, 2 knit sts*; repeat from * to * to last 6 sts, 1 purl, 5 knit sts;
  • 3rd row: 6 knit sts, *2 purls, slip 3 sts and leave them behind work, 3 knit sts, 3 slipped sts as knit sts, 2 purls, 1 knit st*; repeat from * to * to last 5 sts, 5 knit sts.

Repeat 1st-8th row until the length of your plaid is 74 cm.

Make the next row with knit sts, decrease 15 sts, then follow with 5 rows of garter stitch.
