Notes
I use a ch 2 at the beginning of dc rounds and a ch 3 at the beginning of tr rounds. If you prefer, you can use a ch 3 and ch 4, respectively.
Crochet Pattern Instructions
Round 1: With brown, ch 2, 6 sc in second ch from hook, sl st to first sc: 6 sc.
Round 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each sc around, sl st to first sc: 12 sc.
Round 3: Ch 1, sc in first sc, ch 3, [sc in next sc, ch 3] around, sl st to first sc: 12 ch-3 sps. Fasten off brown.
Round 4: With mauve, sl st to ch-2 of any ch-3 sp, ch 2 (counts as first dc), 4 dc in same ch-2, *ch 1, sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 1, 5 dc in ch-2 of next ch-3 sp, rep from * to last ch-3 sp, ch 1, sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 1, sl st to top of beg ch-2: 6 5-dc groups.
Round 5: Ch 1, * [sc, dc] in first dc of 5-dc group, [dc, sc] in second dc of 5-dc group, front post slip stitch around post of third dc of 5-dc group, [sc, dc] in fourth dc of 5-dc group, [dc, sc] in fifth dc of 5-dc group, ch 2, sk sc, rep from * around, sl st to first sc: 6 sections. Fasten off mauve.
Round 6: With brown, sl st to an first dc of any section, ch 1, sc in same dc and in next dc, *ch 3, sc in each of next 2 dc, rep from * around, ch 3, sl st to first sc: 12 ch-3 sps.

Finishing
With yarn needle, weave in all ends securely. Spritz with water, as necessary, and block into shape.
