Complete Guide to Crocheting a Stylish Lilac Jacket with Step-by-Step Instructions

You’ll Need

550 (650)g of lilac Mondo yarn (52% sheep wool, 48% cotton; 120m/50g);

50g of mélange lilac Oggi yarn (50% microfiber, 30% merino wool, 20% viscose; 130m/50g);

Crochet hook 4.

Size: S (M).

Used Patterns

Rose-Knot

Make 6 chain sts and circle them with 1 slip st in the ring. Then, work with circle rows according to Scheme 1.

Main Pattern

The number of sts is a multiple of 6 + 3 + 1 chain st increase. Work according to Scheme 2. Start with sts before pattern repeat, pattern repeat, and finish with sts after pattern repeat. Make 1st-6th rows once, then repeat 3rd-6th rows.

Stitches Control

Main pattern: 23.5 sts x 9 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Rose-knot = 9 x 9 cm.

Instructions

Back

Make 129 (147) chain sts + 3 chain sts increase with lilac yarn and work with the main pattern. For side chamfers, decrease 6 x 1 st in every 4th row from both sides and 3 x 1 st in every 3rd row = 111 (129) sts. In 51 cm = 46 rows (49 cm = 44 rows) from the set-up row, leave 9 sts from both sides = 93 (111) sts. In 72 cm = 65 rows from the set-up row, finish your work.

Left Front

Make 75 (81) chain sts + 3 chain sts increase with lilac yarn and work with the main pattern. Make side chamfer and arm-hole from the right side in the same way as the back. In 51 cm = 46 rows (49 cm = 44 rows) from the set-up row, decrease 1 st for neck-hole chamfer from the left side and 15 (19) x 1 st in every row. Finish your work at the height of the back.

Right Front

Make in symmetry to left front.

Sleeves

Make 75 (81) chain sts + 3 chain sts increase with lilac yarn and work with the main pattern. For sleeve chamfers, increase 12 x 1 st in every 3rd row from both sides (8 x 1 st in every 3rd row and 6 x 1 st in every 2nd row) = 99 (109) sts, including the increased sts in the pattern. In 50 cm = 45 rows from the set-up row, finish your work.

Assembly

Make shoulder seams: sew up the sleeves, and make side and sleeve seams. Make 10 (12) rose-knots for the bottom placket, 8 rose-knots for each half of the front, and connect them with slip sts in stripes on the WS. Join the plackets to the jacket with 1 row of single crochets with mélange yarn. Fasten all the edges with 1 row of single crochets and 1 row of “shrimp stitch” with mélange yarn, making 3 single crochets in 1 base st in every corner of the 1st row.
