You’ll Need:

450 (500) 550g of burgundy Cool Wool 2000 yarn (100% merino wool; 160m/50g);

100g of the same yarn, but in olive, light-yellow, violet yarn (each);

50g of the same yarn, but in light-purple color;

Crochet hook 3;

5 pearled buttons.

Used Patterns

Striped Pattern: The quantity of sts is multiple of 6 + 1 + 3 chain sts increase. Work according to the scheme. Start with sts before pattern repeat, then pattern repeat, and finish with sts after pattern repeat. Make 1st-38th rows x once, 1st-22nd rows x once, making the last row with burgundy yarn = 61 rows.

Main Pattern: Work in the same way as the striped pattern, but do not follow color order. Make 36th-38th rows x once, then repeat 37th-38th rows.

Stitches Control

Striped Pattern: 20 sts x 13.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Main Pattern: 18 sts x 16 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Make 85 (97) 109 chain sts + 3 chain sts increase and work with the striped pattern. In 15.5 cm = 21 rows from the set-up row, decrease 1 st from both sides for better fitting and 3 x 1 st in every 3rd row = 77 (89) 101 sts. In 29 cm = 39 rows from the set-up row, increase 1 st from both sides and 3 x 1 st in every 3rd row = 85 (97) 109 sts, include the increased sts in the pattern. In 45 cm = 61 rows from the set-up row, work with the main pattern with burgundy yarn. In 0.5 cm = 1 rows from the striped pattern, leave 4 sts from both sides for arm-holes and 2 x 2 sts, 4 x 1 st in every 2nd row = 61 (73) 85 sts. In 17.5 cm = 28 rows (20 cm = 32 rows) 22.5 cm = 36 rows from the striped pattern, leave 5 (6) 7 sts for shoulder chamfers from both sides and 2 x 4 (5) 6 sts in every row. In 19 cm = 30 rows (21.5 cm = 34 rows) 24 cm = 38 rows from the striped pattern, leave the central 27 (31) 35 sts for neck-hole and finish both sides separately. In 19.5 cm = 31 rows (22 cm = 35 rows) 24.5 cm = 39 rows from the striped pattern, finish your work.

Left Front

Make 43 (49) 55 chain sts + 3 chain sts increase with burgundy yarn and work with striped pattern. In 45 cm = 61 rows from the set-up row, switch to the main pattern with burgundy yarn. For better fitting, create arm-hole and shoulder chamfer from the right side in the same way as for back. In 0.5 cm = 1 row from the set-up row, decrease 1st from the left side for neck-hole chamfer and make 13 (15) 17 x 1 st in every 2nd row. In 19.5 cm = 31 rows (22 cm = 35 rows) 24.5 cm = 39 rows from the striped pattern, finish your work.

Right Front

Work in symmetry to the left front.

Sleeves

Make 41 (47) 53 chain sts + 3 chain sts increase and work with the main pattern. For sleeve chamfers, increase 1 st in the 15th (13th) 11th rows and 8 (10) 12 x 1 st in every 5th (4th) 4th row = 59 (69) 79 sts, include the increased sts in pattern. In 37.5 cm = 60 rows (38.5 cm = 62 rows) 40 cm = 64 rows from the set-up row, leave 4 sts from both sides for sleeve cap and decrease 1 x 2 sts, 16 x 1 st and 1 x 2 sts. In 49.5 cm = 79 rows (50.5 cm = 81 rows) 52 cm = 83 rows from the set-up row, finish your work.

Assembly

Make shoulder seams, sew up the sleeves, and make side and sleeve seams. Fasten the front and neck-hole with 2 rows of single crochets using burgundy yarn, create 5 loops for buttons, and finish with 1 row of “shrimp stitch”. Sew buttons on the garment.
