Pattern Notes
Easily change the shawl width by adjusting the multiple of the starting chain (see below for multiple).
Change the length of the shawl by working more/less rows of the pattern.
Grape Hyacinth Crochet Shawl Pattern
- Ch 65 (to change the width, work in any multiple of 3+2)
- Row 1: In the 2nd chain from the hook, work a sc. *Skip 2 chains then work a sc into the next chain. Repeat from * to the end of the row.
- Row 2: Chain 3 (counts as a dc) and turn. Then work 2 dc into the first ch 2 space. *Work a fpdc into the next sc, then 2 dc into the next ch 2 space. Repeat from * to the end of the row, then work a dc into the last stitch of the row.
- Row 3: Chain 1 and turn. Work an sc into the very first stitch. *Chain 2, then skip the next two stitches, then work a sc into the fpdc from the previous row. Repeat from * across to the last 2 stitches. Ch 2, then skip the last 2 stitches, then work a sc into the top of the turning chain.
- Repeat rows 2 and 3 until the shawl is as long as you like, ending on row 2 for a nice, neat edge. I worked the shawl as shown for about 60 inches.
