- Round 2 – ch3 (counts as 1dc), * sk 2-stitches, 3dc in next, repeat from * 9 times, sk 2-stitches, 2dc in last stitch, turn. [30dc]
- Repeat rounds 2 and 3 until you have made about 20 rows.
- Foundation, color A – ch31
- Round 1 – 3sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in next 27-stitches, 3sc in last stitch, rotate piece to work down the other side of the foundation chain, 1sc in next 27-stitches, sl st into 1st sc to join. [60sc]

Strap Instructions
Options
- You can either make a wrist strap or a crossbody strap for this pouch:
- Wrist strap, color C – ch50, 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in next stitch, 1sc in the next 48-stitches, rotate the piece to work on the other side of the chain, sl st in each stitch to the end, cut yarn, leave a long tail for sewing and fasten off.
- Crossbody strap, color C – start with a long yarn tail (use this for sewing later), crochet as many chains as needed to get your desired length, then 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in each stitch to the end, rotate the piece to work on the other side of the chain, sl st in each stitch to the end, cut yarn, leave a long tail for sewing and fasten off.
Finish
- Lay the purse flat so that the buttonhole is facing up, position the button on the inside back of the purse, and sew it into place.
- Wrist strap - Fold the strap in half and sew the two ends together using the end tail yarn, then sew the strap to the outside of one side of the bag, fasten it off, and weave in the ends.
- Crossbody strap – sew each end of the strap to the inside sides of the bag.
