• Cord 3 mm, creme color
• Crochet hook 3.5 mm
• Tapestry needle

Instructions

Start with a magic ring or ch2.

Round 1

8 sc in MR.
I work V stitches (not X) to make the stitches not so tight.

Round 2

8 inc [16]

Round 3

(1 sc, inc) x 8 [24]

Round 4

(1 sc, inc, 1 sc) x 3, then make the ear:

Ear (Version 1 - Longer Ear)

ch 10, insert the hook in 2nd ch and work:
1 sc, 2 hdc, 4 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc,
sl st in next stitch of the coaster.
The ear is contained within two stitches of the coaster.

Ear (Version 2 - Shorter Ear)

ch 8, insert the hook in 2nd ch and work:
1 sc, 1 hdc, 4 dc, 1 hdc,
sl st in next stitch of the coaster.

Then crochet 6 sc (space between ears).
Don't worry if you see a wider space between ears; in the next step, I will gather the stitches, and everything will be OK.
Repeat the same pattern for the 2nd ear.

Then a few stitches of round 4 left: 1 sc, (1 sc, inc, 1 sc) x 2.

Round 5

(3 sc, inc) x 3, then crochet around the 1st ear.
For longer ear: 9 sc, 3 sc in one st on the top, 9 sc
For shorter ear: 7 sc, 3 sc in one st on the top, 7 sc
Skip sl st in the corner and work space between ears: 6 sc.

Crochet around the 2nd ear:
For longer ear: 9 sc, 3 sc in one st on the top, 9 sc
For shorter ear: 7 sc, 3 sc in one st on the top, 7 sc
Skip sl st in the corner.

Then finish round 5:
1 sc, (3 sc, inc) x 2.

Round 6

Sl stitches around.
Skip 2 stitches in the corners between ears.

Then skip 2 sts in the corner and work sl sts around the 2nd ear.

Cut the yarn and make an invisible finish.
