4: sl st to first 4-ch sp, *(pfs, 4 ch, pfs) in sp(corner), 7 dc in next sp*; Repeat * to * 3 times again; join with sl st in first st.

5: sl st to first 4-ch sp, *(pfs, 4 ch, pfs) in sp(corner), 9 dc in next sp*; Repeat * to * 3 times again; join with sl st in first st.

6: sc in ea st along sides, doing 5 sc in ea corner space; join with sl st in first staccato yarn.

1. Join yarn in the ch of a pfs of 1st round of Square with a sc; (4 ch, sc in the ch of next pfs) 7 times, 4 ch, join with sl st in first sc.

2. In ea 4-ch sp do (sc, hdc, lpfs, hdc, sc); join with sl st in first sc. Cut yarn.

N.B.

  • Always substitute (also if not explicitly said) first st in a row as follows:
    • first sc with 1 ch, sc;
    • first hdc with 2 ch;
    • first dc with 3 ch;
    • first tr with 4 ch...and so on;
  • When you read "sl st to <location>", where the location is not immediately contiguous to last st, this means of course "an appropriate number of sl sts for reaching <location>".
