Make 4.
Place 2 pieces right side together. Match up sts. Using a needle and yarn, evenly sew the pieces together (except 1 inch, using outside loops only). Do not fasten off! Set aside.
Band Instructions
Round 1: Ch 6, ss in beg ch to join, Ch 1, sc in each st around.
Round 2: Sc to join (mnr), sc in each st around. (8 sts)
Repeat round 2 until project is slightly longer than your headband (mine was almost 15 1/2 inches). Ss at end. Fasten off leaving tail. Use tail and needle to sew this end of the band closed. Insert headband through the other end. Sew the other end closed with yarn and needle.
Assembly Instructions
Stuff both muffs evenly. Insert one end of the band into the earmuff. Make sure you place it on the outside facing of the stuffing (or it will hurt your ears). Note: You may wish to add hot glue to the ends to hold the headband in place better, as they may come loose.
Using the closing yarn and needle, finish sewing the hole closed. Sew around the band to fasten it to the muff, being sure to close the hole completely. Sew away all ends.
