Gauge: 6 rounds = 4″ across

ch – chain

dc – double crochet

rep – repeat

sl st – slip stitch

sc – single crochet

yo – yarn over

Notes

  • Total square should be 8” across; if slightly off you can block square.
  • Fastening off after each round will make the color changes neater, but if you want you can carry the yarn up the back and change colors at the start of each new round.
  • MC is listed as the main color. CC is the contrast color.
  • Approx. 1 oz of each color will make 2 squares in opposite color combos.
  • You can continue to work in rounds and make this a blanket, if you choose.

Labyrinth Granny Square Instructions

With MC, make magic ring, ch 1,
Round 1: (3 dc, ch 1) 4 times in magic ring, sl st in first dc to join. (12 dc)

Round 2: With CC, join in any corner st, ch 1, *(sc, ch 3, sc) in ch-sp, ch 2, sc rep from * around, sl st in first sc to join. (8 sc)

Round 3: With MC, join in any corner st, ch 1, *(3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in corner, 3 dc in next ch-2 sp, rep from * around, sl st in first dc to join. (36 dc)

Round 4: With CC, join in any corner st, ch 1, *(sc, ch 3, sc) in ch-sp, ch 2, [sc between next 2 groups of 3dc] across, rep from * around, sl st in first sc to join.

Rounds 5-10: Repeat Rounds 3 & 4.

Round 11: With MC, join in any corner, ch 1, (2 sc, ch 1, 2 sc) in corner, [3 sc in next ch-2 sp] across, rep from * around, sl st in first sc to join.

Fasten off. Weave in ends.
