Crochet Comfy Slippers

Create your own cozy pair of handmade slippers with the art of crocheting. Crafted with soft yarn and a comfortable design, these slippers are perfect for lounging around the house or keeping your feet warm during chilly nights. Crocheting allows you to customize the size, color, and style of your slippers, making them a unique and personalized accessory for your wardrobe. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced crocheter, making comfy slippers is a fun and rewarding project that will bring warmth and comfort to your feet. The versatility of crocheting allows you to experiment with different textures and designs, adding your own personal touch to each pair of slippers. With just a hook and some yarn, you can transform a simple ball of yarn into a cozy and stylish pair of slippers that will keep your feet happy and warm.

Materials:

- 3 oz. 4-ply worsted weight acrylic (these slippers were crocheted with Bernat 'winter sky')
- small amount contrasting color 4-ply worsted weight acrylic
- J hook
Size: these are a size 7 - to make smaller or larger: leave off or add dc rows on the back foot part before Row 21 - then work Row 21 as the last row.

Notes:

- I crochet tight, so you may need to adjust the size of your crochet hook
- the ch 2 at the beginning of Rnds 1 through 11 do not count as a stitch

Directions:

Rnd 1: Ch 3, work 12 dc in the 3rd ch from the hook. Join with a sl st to 1st dc. (12 dc)

Rnd 3: Ch 2, 2 dc in same dc as joining st, dc in next 2 dc. *2 dc in next dc, dc in next 2 dc. Repeat from * around. Join as before.
Rnd 4: Ch 2, 2 dc in same dc as joining st, dc in next 3 dc. *2 dc in next dc, dc in next 3 dc. Repeat from * around. Join as before.
Rnds 5 - 11: Ch 2, dc in same dc as joining st, dc in each dc around. Join as before.
Row 12: Ch 3, dc in next 21 dc. Turn. (22 dc)
Rows 13 - 20: Ch 3, dc in each dc across. Turn.
Row 21: Ch 3, dc in next 7 dc, hdc in next dc, sc in next 4 dc, hdc in next dc, dc in last 8 dc. End off leaving a long tail.
Fold last row in half and matching stitches, whipstitch together.

With a contrasting color: make a chain about 23" long - start in the front of the slipper and weave through the dc stitches, then weave through the dc's and ch 3's around the ankle of the slipper. Put slipper on - pull a little tight - tie into a bow.
