How to Knit a Stylish Sweater with Soft Wool and DIVA Yarn

You'll Need

450 g of Soft Wool (100% wool; 50g/110m) in light-brown colour and 300 g of DIVA yarn (60% polyamide, 40% wool; 50g/120m) in beige colour.

Circle needles 9-10 with wire ropes 60 cm and 100 cm long.

Double pointed needles.

Fur stripe 75 cm long.

Size

Chest circumference: 86-97 cm.

Ornaments and Types of Stitches

Stockinette stitches, 2x2 rib.

Stitch Control

10 x 10 cm = 10 stitches x 16 rows using three-fold yarn.

Note

Knit with three-fold yarn (2 threads of Soft Wool + 1 thread DIVA) with circular rows (arrow on the pattern with work direction), starting each row on one side.

Instructions

Cast on 202 stitches and knit stockinette stitch in circular rows with three-fold yarn criss-crossed.

In the 1st row, place markers on the 51st stitch (back center) and the 152nd stitch (front center).

In the 2nd row, and then in each 4th row, slip the marked stitch together with the previous stitch in a knit way, make 1 knit stitch, and throw the already knit stitch through the slipped stitch to decrease 4 stitches in each row.

After 59 rows (37 cm height), there should be 142 stitches left on the knitting needle. Place markers for one shoulder on the 71st and 72nd stitches and for the other shoulder on the 1st and each last stitch in each row.

In the next row, make decreases as follows: at the beginning of the row, decrease on the 1st and next stitches (i.e., slip 1 stitch knit way, make 1 knit stitch, throw already knit stitch through the slipped stitch), then knit the 1st marked stitch together with the previous stitch, and finally, make decreases on the 2nd marked stitch together with the next stitch. Knit 2 stitches together at the end of the row.

Repeat these decreases in each 4th row once and then 14 times in each 2nd row for a total of 64 decreased stitches.

In the center of the front and back, make decreases of 3 stitches in each 4th circular row. After 92 rows (57 cm height), bind off the remaining 46 stitches for the neck hole.

The total height of the front and back in the center is 61 cm.

Collar

Cast on 72 stitches and knit 24 cm of 2x2 rib with three-fold yarn criss-crossed.

Then, without binding off the last row, sew the collar along the neck hole with a "stitch in stitch" seam.

Sew the fur stripe under the typesetting edge of the collar.
