Crochet Men’s Vest

You’ll need:

500g of mélange yarn (50% acryl, 50% cotton);

Crochet hook 2;

Knitting needles 2.

Instructions

Front

At first, make a sample due to the scheme. Make 22 chain sts. Then, make 4 chain sts and 1 double crochet in the 8th st from the crochet hook. Make 2 chain sts and 1 double crochet in the 3rd st of the chain. Work due to previously described scheme to the end of row. Turn your work, continue on the wrong side. Make 2 chain sts increase, 6 double crochets, 2 chain sts, 10 double crochets, 2 chain sts, 1 double crochet. Then, 2 chain sts increase + 2 chain sts, 10 double crochets, 2 chain sts, 8 double crochet. Make the next row in the same way. Then, turn your work, make a row as the 1st row – double crochets and chain sts by turn. Measure the motif (1 square) and count the needed quantity of motifs due to the pattern design.

Cast on 166 sts with knitting needles and make 15 rows (about 5 cm) of 1 x 1 rib. Then, bind off the sts on the knitting needle and make crochet motifs in the end of row due to the previously described scheme. About 14 patternrepeats. Make 9 verticalpatternrepeats. Then, leave 1 motif from each side for arm-holes. Make 5-6 rows due to the scheme of the square motif to up – totally, 12 pattern repeats. Then, divide your work in 2 halves of 6 motifs each. Make decreases along the neck-hole due to the pattern design.

Back

Make back in the same way, as front, but don’t make V-shape neck-hole.

Assembly

Connect side and shoulder seams. Then, make placket for arm-holes in the following way – cast on 90 sts and make 5 cm of rib with knit sts and purls by turn. After that, bind off all the sts. Make the second placket in the same way. Make neck-hole placket. For this, cast on 230 sts and make 6 rows of 1 x 1 rib. Bindoffthests. Sewplacketstothevest.
