How to Create a Beautiful Crochet Top with Relief Seashell Pattern

You’ll Need:
150-200g of 100% cotton yarn (280m/50g);
Crochet hook 1.5.
Instructions
Work from the top down. Make the yoke following the scheme of 23 rows. The pattern repeat = 12 stitches.
This top is made using chain stitches and double crochets.
Relief Seashell Pattern
After finishing the yoke, start making the front and back details. The main pattern of this top is the relief seashells. You can find the scheme below.
Pattern repeat = 10 stitches.
Divide the total quantity of stitches into 4 (the same quantity for back, front, and sleeves) and cut the yarn. Continue working only on back stitches.
After that, make the main part of the top, using the description and scheme. After finishing the last row, make 20 chain stitches for armholes. Connect the back and front parts with it.
Then, make 1 row of the front part pattern and 1 more chain of 20 chain stitches. Connect it in the circular row on the back.
Length of back + length of the first armhole + length of front + length of the second armhole = chest circumference. The size of your work will depend on this parameter.
Continue working with a reversed row of the seashell pattern around. Include the armholes into the relief pattern. When your top reaches the desired length, cut the yarn and weave in the end.

Hi, I'm doing this Adelina top, it's not easy but it's a good challenge for me. I let you know IF I'm victorious. Thanks for the instructions'
Josie
I wish you good luck!
Looking forward to see the photo of your work!
cute top but the pattern is extremely confusing. can you please explain«Length of back + length of the first arm-hole + length of front + length of the second arm-hole = chest circumference, the size of your work will depend on this parameter» I don't understand this at all. what exactly is being measured because these 4 measurements don't add up together to equal my chest measurement. If my chest measurement is, lets say 40 inches, just the back length, if I want the top to be slightly longer, could be nearly 30 inches. That is just one of the measurements, how does all 4 measurements equal the 40 inches? Also why do I «Divide the total quantity of sts in 4 (the same quantity for back, front and sleeves) and cut the yarn» esp the cutting of the yarn-why am I cutting the yarn and again, how can the quantity of stitches be the same? I understand the graph-I just think the directions need some extra explaining for me to even attempt this. Is there a tutorial? written, complete and easy to understand pattern??
You can ask Josephine (a person, who writes comment above), as she was going to make this top, I think, she'll explain it to you better
