Crochet hook 3.5;

Buttons Ø23 mm - 9 pcs.

Size

XS, S, M.

Used Pattern

Start with stitches before pattern repeat, then repeat the pattern. Make the 1st-4th rows once, then repeat the 3rd and 4th rows.

Stitches Control

27 stitches x 21 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Back

Make 124; 132; 140 chain stitches + 1 chain stitch increase. Work for 4 cm, and for waist narrowing, skip:

  • For 34th-36th rows: 1 stitch from both sides and 1 stitch x 7 in every 4th row;
  • For 38th-40th rows: 1 stitch from both sides and 1 stitch x 7 in every 4th row;
  • For 42nd-44th rows: 1 stitch from both sides and 1 stitch x 7 in every 3rd and 4th rows.

Totally, 108; 116; 124 stitches remaining.

At 19 cm height, start making increases:

  • For 34th-36th rows: 1 stitch from both sides and 1 stitch x 7 in every 4th row;
  • For 38th-40th rows: 1 stitch from both sides and 1 stitch x 7 in every 4th row;
  • For 42nd-44th rows: 1 stitch from both sides and 1 stitch x 7 in every 3rd and 4th rows.

Totally, 124; 132; 140 stitches remaining.

At 35; 33; 31 cm, skip 12 stitches from both sides for armholes. This leaves 100; 108; 116 stitches.

At 54 cm, skip 8; 10; 12 stitches from both sides to form the shoulder line, then:

  • For 34th-36th rows: 8 stitches x 1, 10 stitches x 1;
  • For 38th-40th rows: 10 stitches x 2;
  • For 42nd-44th rows: 12 stitches x 1 and 10 stitches x 1.

There are 48 stitches left; continue working to 57 cm height and finish.

Front

Left Half

Make 68; 72; 76 chain stitches + 1 chain stitch increase. Make decreases for waist narrowing as described in the back section. Create the neck hole and shoulder the same way as for the back.

At 48 cm height, start forming the neck hole. Skip 14 stitches on the left side, then make rounding: skip 4 stitches x 2 and 2 stitches x 4 in every 2nd row. This will match the height of the back with no stitches left.

Right Half

Make this half in reflection to the left half. The only difference is buttonholes. For the buttonholes, skip 4th-6th stitches in the right-side row, making 3 chain stitches in these places. Create the first buttonhole at 10 cm height from the start of work, and all the rest with a 20-row interval (i.e. at 9 cm and 25 cm).

Upper Flap

Create 2 details.

Start with 18 chain stitches + 1 chain stitch increase. Then crochet with the main pattern, increasing 2 stitches from both sides in the 2nd row. Include these increased stitches into the pattern. Total will be 22 stitches. Finish work at 3 cm height.

Lower Flap

Create 2 details.

Follow the same method as the upper flap, but begin with 24 chain stitches.

Sleeves

Make 60; 64; 68 chain stitches + 1 chain stitch increase for each sleeve. Crochet with the main pattern to 12; 10; 12 cm height. Then, for widening from both sides, increase:

  • For 34th-36th rows: 1 stitch from both sides and 1 stitch x 20 in every 4th row;
  • For 38th-40th rows: 1 stitch from both sides in every 3rd and 4th rows;
  • For 42nd-44th rows: 1 stitch x 11 from both sides in every 3rd row and 1 stitch x 16 in every 2nd and 3rd rows.

Totally, there will be 102; 114; 124 stitches. Finish work at 57; 55; 53 cm height.

Assembly

Make a decorative seam with 2 threads of yarn using chain seam on the back and front.

Repeat the seam on the central line of the sleeves, with chain seam stitches in 2 rows (i.e., 2 single crochets).

Collar

Lift 104 stitches along the neck hole, stepping 2 cm from each side. Crochet the main pattern on all stitches to 6 cm height. Finish work.

Fold the collar inwards and sew.

Sew the buttons onto the left half of the front.
