​Bright Summer Crochet Plaid

You'll need:

Bright green color yarn, a little bit of yellow and brown yarn;

Crochet hook 2;

Needle.

Instructions

This summer plaid consists of "Granny Square" motif. The beginning of work - ring of 6 sts.

1st row: 3 chain sts after the slip st, 2 double crochets in the obtained ring, finish with 2 chain sts;

Then, make 3 double crochets and 2 chain sts, make 2 repeats of this motif. As a result, you should get square from your ring.

2nd row: 3 chain sts in the 1st double crochet, 3 double crochets in the arch, 2 chain sts and again 3 double crochets. Repeat this with each arch. Finish the last arch with 2 double crochets and slip st;

3rd row: 3 chain sts + 2 double crochets. Repeat the previous succession (3 double crochets, 2 chain sts, 3 double crochets). Next arch - 3 double crochets. Repeat these actions along the perimeter of your work.

In the corners of square and the same succession from 3 double crochets, 2 chain sts and 3 double crochets. Make arches on the sides of your square without changes - always 3 double crochets. This is "Granny Square" motif. The quantity of rows depends on the needed size of plaid. Fasten the edges of your plaid with yellow yarn: 7 single crochets in 1 arch, 1 double crochet in the second arch and continue this alternation around your work. Finish fastening with green yarn due to the following scheme: 3 chain sts in every st and 1 single crochet.

Butterfly Decoration

1st row: make a ring of 5 chain sts, 3 chain sts and 1 double crochet, 2 chain sts, 2 double crochets. Make 8 such repeats, you should get 16 double crochets;

2nd row: slip st, 3 chain sts, 2 double crochets, 3 chain sts, 3 double crochets under the chain. Repeat these actions under all arches;

3rd row: attach brown yarn, 3 double crochets under chain of chain sts, skip 3 lower double crochets and make single crochets. Make all the other chains due to this scheme (totaly, 8 chains of brown yarn);

4th row: fasten the whole butterfly with yellow yarn. 1 single crochet in 6 sts of the previous row, chain sts above it, picot of 3 chain sts. Make the butterfly in such a way. Fold it in half and fix with chain of chain sts with brown yarn.
