Instructions
Cast on 82 stitches using the Norway method and knitting needles 3.00 mm. Connect your work in a circle using an auxiliary 83rd stitch. Knit 9 rows with a 1 x 1 rib.
Change to knitting needle 3.75 mm and knit 25 rows using stockinette stitch. Then, begin forming the crown.
Crown
1st row: 2 knit stitches, knit 2 together;
2nd-5th rows (4 rows): knit without decreases;
6th row: repeat 1st row;
7th-10th rows (4 rows): knit without decreases.
In the 11th row, there'll be harsh decreases; switch to either the Magic loop or double-pointed knitting needles.
11th row: 1 knit stitch, knit 2 together;
12th-13th rows (2 rows): knit without decreases;
14th row: with 32 stitches left, make only decreases (i.e., knit 2 together, resulting in 16 stitches);
15th row: knit without decreases;
16th row: knit 2 together (8 stitches). Tighten the crown.
Eyes
Make 2 eyes.
Note: Make both eyes at the same time; do not delay making the second one to ensure they are equal in size.
White Yarn
1st row: Amigurumi ring - 6 single crochets;
2nd row: 6 stitches (12);
3rd row: 1 single crochet, 1 stitch (18);
4th row: 2 single crochets, 1 stitch (24);
5th row: 3 single crochets, 1 stitch (30);
6th row: 4 single crochets, 1 stitch (36). Slip stitch and cut the long yarn.
On the second circle, leave a small piece of yarn to hide it. Sew both eyes together with one yarn.
Black Yarn
1st row: Amigurumi ring - 12 double crochets;
2nd row: 6 stitches, but with single crochets (24).
Sew the black part of the eye to the white part, then sew the completed eyes onto the hat.
