Cast on 109 (109) 115 (115) stitches with double yarn in criss-cross way and start with 1 WS row working with the structured pattern. For chamfers, increase 1 x 1 stitch in every 10th row, then, 9 (12) 12 (6) x 1 stitch in every 8th (6th) 6th (6th) row and 0 (0) 0 (9) x 1 stitch in every 4th row = 129 (135) 141 (147) stitches. In 25 cm = 82 rows from the set-up row, divide your work into 68 (71) 74 (77) stitches for the left side, make the last stitch from inwards, 1 selvage stitch, and the rest 61 (64) 67 (70) stitches for the back. In 51 (55) 59 (63) cm = 168 (182) 194 (208) rows from work division, leave stitches for back. In 51 (55) 59 (63) cm = 168 (182) 194 (208) rows from work division, leave 68 (71) 74 (77) stitches of front. Cast on the previously left 61 (64) 67 (70) stitches of back and starting from 1 WS row, cast on 3 stitches of the upper placket of the fastener = 64 (67) 70 (73) stitches and work with the structured pattern. Then, starting from 1 WS row, continue work on 68 (71) 74 (77) stitches of front and 64 (67) 70 (73) stitches of upper placket = 129 (135) 141 (147) stitches. Decrease 1 x 1 stitch in the 2nd row from both sides for chamfers, then, 0 (0) 0 (9) x 1 stitch in every 4th row and 9 (12) 12 (6) x 1 stitch in every 8th (6th) 6th (6th) row. In 25 cm = 83 rows from connection, bind off the remaining 109 (109) 115 (115) stitches as purls.
Assembly
Sew the lower edge of the placket. Make sleeve seams. Sew buttons.
Cowl
Cast on 193 stitches with double yarn in criss-cross way and work with structured pattern on circular knitting needles, starting with 1 WS row. In 32 cm = 105 rows from the set-up row, bind off stitches, making all slip stitches together with yarn overs. Make with mattress stitch.
Love this pattern but need to substitute the yarn as I am cannot wear or knit with wool. What weight is this yarn?
Would it be possible to include the yarn weights in future patterns?
Thank you.
