Crocheting a Stylish Skirt and Jacket with Mélange Yarn

You’ll Need:

500g of mélange Bodrum yarn (48% linen, 52% polyester; 280m/100g);

300g of the same yarn, but in violet color;

Crochet hooks 2.5 and 3.

Instructions:

Skirt

Make 100 chain stitches with crochet hook 3 and violet yarn. Make single crochets through the back loop with straight and reversed rows for 40 cm.

Jacket

Make 160 chain stitches with mélange yarn and crochet hook 3. Divide the stitches in the following way: 20 stitches for the right front, 40 stitches for the right sleeve, 40 stitches for the back, 40 stitches for the left sleeve, and 20 stitches for the left front. Work with single crochets through the back loop with straight and reversed rows, making increases according to scheme 2. Make 30 rows, then for arm-holes, make 30 chain stitches from both sides. After that, make stitches for the front and back with straight and reversed rows for 25 cm. Then, make fringe due to scheme 1.

Sleeves

Make 5 single crochets through the back loop with crochet hook 2.5, then turn your work. For sleeve widening, make increases to match your size. After that, crochet 60 rows, then make fringe.

Assembly

For the neck-hole placket, make 6 rows of single crochets. Fasten both halves of the front with 6 rows of single crochets. Make 7 button-loops on the left front. Fasten the edges of the jacket with a “crab stitch”. Sew the buttons.
