You’ll Need:

300 (400)g of light-blue yarn (100% cotton; 165m/50g);

Knitting needles size 4;

Circular knitting needles size 4.

Size:

S (L).

Used Patterns

Stockinette Stitch:

In RS row – knit sts, in WS row – purls;

Relief Pattern:

The quantity of sts is multiple of 16. Work according to scheme 1, which states only RS rows.

For WS rows, work sts and yarn overs as purls. If there are 2 yarn overs, the 1st yarn over is a purl, and the 2nd yarn over is a knit stitch. Repeat rows 1st to 28th.

Relief Pattern for Sleeves:

The quantity of sts is multiple of 4 + 2 selvage sts. Work according to scheme 2, which states only RS rows. For WS rows, work sts and yarn overs as purls. If there are 2 yarn overs, the 1st yarn over is a purl and the 2nd yarn over is a knit stitch. Repeat rows 1st to 8th between selvage sts.

Stitches Control:

Stockinette stitch and relief pattern: 19 sts x 36 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Relief pattern for sleeves: 20.5 sts x 33.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Back

Cast on 88 (100) sts and make 1 WS row of knit sts. Do not take this row into account. Continue work as follows: 1 selvage st, 3 (1) sts of stockinette stitch, 80 (96) sts of relief pattern, 3 (1) st of stockinette stitch, 1 selvage st. In 45.5 cm = 164 rows (42 cm = 152 rows) from the set-up row, bind off 1 x 4 sts from both sides for armholes, then bind off 1 x 3 sts and 2 x 2 sts in every 2nd row = 66 (78) sts. In 62 cm = 224 rows from the set-up row, bind off all sts; the central 42 sts form the neck hole, with outer 12 (18) sts from both sides for shoulders.

Front

Make in the same way as the back, but in 56 cm = 202 rows from the set-up row, bind off the central 32 sts for the neck hole and finish both sides separately. For smooth rounding, bind off 1 x 2 sts and 3 x 1 st in every 2nd row from inward. Bind off the remaining 12 (18) sts of shoulders from both sides at the same height as the back.

Sleeves

Cast on 46 (50) sts for each sleeve and make 1 WS row of knit sts. Continue working with the relief pattern for sleeves. At the same time, increase 8 x 1 st in every 12th row from both sides (12 x 1 st in every 8th row from both sides) according to the pattern = 62 (74) sts. In 31.5 cm = 106 rows from the set-up row, bind off 1 x 3 sts from both sides for sleeve caps, then bind off 17 (15) x 1 st and 1 (3) x 2 sts in every 2nd row. In 43 cm = 144 rows from the set-up row, bind off the remaining 18 (26) sts.

Assembly

Make shoulder seams. For placket, cast on 95 sts along the neck hole with circular knitting needles and make 4 circle rows of purls. Then, bind off all sts as purls. Sew up the sleeves, and sew side and sleeve seams.
